RAINY DAYS

On heavily rainy days lifeguards may leave before 8:00 pm. If no lifeguard on duty, a person swims at the person’s own risk. A person is not allowed in the pool if lightning is in the area.

TEMPORARY POOL CLOSINGS

The pool area may have to be closed for weather, health, or other reasons. A person is not allowed in the pool area if the gate is chained closed.

LIFEGUARD BREAKS

Each hour lifeguards will take a 10 minute break. A person under 18 is not allowed in the pool. A person 18 or older swims at the person’s own risk.

POOL GATE / HOA KEY FOB

The key fob works with a computerized lock to allow the HOA to control and keep track of access to gates. To enter a gate, hold the key fob in front of the key fob reader and the gate will unlock. You may be required to use the key fob to enter and exit a gate. If so, the key fob must be used to exit the gate or the key fob will not be able to be used to reenter the gate.
A homeowner shall not allow the use of the homeowner’s key fob by anyone other than a member of the homeowner’s household. Also, a homeowner shall not use the homeowner’s key fob to allow anyone other than a member of the homeowner’s household to access a gate. If a homeowner violates these rules, the homeowner’s HOA privileges will be suspended or revoked.
If a homeowner is not current on HOA dues or the homeowner’s HOA privileges have been suspended or revoked, the homeowner’s key fob will be deactivated and will not be able to be used to access gates.

CHILDREN

A person 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult to access the pool area. Lifeguards have been instructed to send home a person 12 and under who is not  properly accompanied. Lifeguards are not babysitters. The parent, guardian, or other adult must watch the child at all times. A homeowner is responsible for the conduct of the homeowner’s children and the homeowner’s accompanying guests’ children.

GUESTS

A homeowner may have up to 5 guests. The limit is per household not per member of the household. A person 15-17 living in a homeowner’s household may have up to 2 guests in the pool area when not accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult. A guest must be accompanied by a homeowner at all times. A homeowner is responsible for the conduct of the homeowner’s accompanying guest.

BABY POOL

A person must be 5 or younger to use the baby pool. A child in diapers or being potty trained must wear “swimmies”.

PARTIES

No parties are allowed in the pool area.  Rental of the clubhouse for a party does not include rental of the pool and does not entitle a person attending the party to access the pool area.

PARKING

A vehicle in the parking lot must have a HOA placard displayed on the rearview mirror. Homeowners that need a HOA placard should contact Halcyon. A vehicle parked in the parking lot without a placard is subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.  If a vehicle is towed, contact Schroeder's Towing company at (803) 772-7930.  Golf carts must be parked in parking spaces.  Do not park golf carts on the grass or concrete area in front of the steps.

FOOD AND DRINKS

Food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, are allowed in the pool area, but not in the pool, and no glass items are allowed in the pool area. A person must clean up and dispose of all trash. A person showing signs of drunkenness will not be allowed access to the pool area, and persons in the pool area displaying signs of drunkenness will be asked to leave the pool area immediately.

MISCELLANEOUS

No smoking is allowed in the pool area. Smoking urns have been placed in designated smoking areas outside the pool gate. A person must not litter cigarette butts.

No pets are allowed in the pool area.

No profanity or rude behavior is allowed.

No running or rough play.

Small flotation devices are allowed; however, lifeguards reserve the right to refuse the use of a float for safety or other reasons. A person must not jump into or off of a float and no rough play with a float.

A swimming lane rope is available upon request for use by a person who wants to swim laps. A persons must not hang on, sit on, or in any other way put weight upon the lane rope. If a person is swimming laps in the lane, other persons must not swim in the lap area.

VIOLATIONS

The HOA reserves the right to refuse admittance to a person or request the removal of a person because of misbehavior or failure to comply with HOA rules.

A person may report violations of a pool rule to a lifeguard, the HOA, or Halcyon.

A violation of a pool rule by a member of a homeowner’s household or by a homeowner’s guest may result in the entire household’s pool privileges being suspended for the remainder of the pool season.

POOL COMMITTEE

The HOA Pool Committee is responsible for overseeing the operations of the pool.  Please direct all questions, comments, concerns, or complaints regarding the pool to J.J. Gentry (803) 917-2595 or Halcyon (803) 732-9644.

Please check the message board at the entrance to the pool for further information.
